Please note that most committees need volunteers to help organize the event or activity, as well as for the date/time it takes place. Please volunteer if you have any interest in the committee and the chair(s) will help you find a way for you to contribute according to your availability, whether it be during the day, evening, or weekends.

Bingo: Plan, advertise, set-up, and run the bingo portion 2 times a year Fall and Spring. Bingo occurs on Fridays and help would be needed on the night of the event, as well as shopping the week before and publicizing the event a few weeks before hand. Chairs: Beth Weithman
Book Fair: Assisting with organization and implementation of November and May Book Fairs; publicity, set up, decorations, bookkeeping, hospitality, inventory of summer reading list books, scheduling volunteers, take down, name tags, and teacher wish lists. No experience necessary; shifts are 30 mins to 2 hrs. If interested, contact us and sign up; details will be emailed prior to the event. Co-Chairs: Andrea Strahan and Janice Griengo
Box-Tops: Please direct any questions about donating box tops to the committee chair. This is a chair-only committee. Chair: Julie Rogers
Class Room Volunteer Coordinator: Will help recruit and coordinate classroom volunteers for classroom specific activities, including field trips, class parties and other activities. They work directly with the teacher to help communicate classroom specific information. Chair: Rachel McCarthy and Bridgette Jreige
Divine Dollars (Gift Card Program): Volunteers are needed to assist chair with marketing the program, selling, collecting and completing order forms. Chair:
Family Social Events Sub-Committee Coordinator: Plan and advertise half day and other social events. Chair: Alison Lockard
Field Day: This fun full day of activities happens at the end of the year. Volunteers are need for different shifts and positions. PE Teacher: Mrs. Sudduth
Giving Tree: Coordinate school-wide Giving Tree donations at Christmas, as well as coordinate 7th and 8th grade Adopt-a-Family. Chair: Co-Chairs: Tina Wickham
Hot Lunch: Hot Lunch is served on Thursdays throughout the school year. Volunteers are needed to serve as a Team Leader for a lunch team or to be Lunch Servers. A team is scheduled to set up, serve, and clean up lunch on a rotating basis on Thursdays throughout the year. Volunteer time: Each team works a 3-hour period every four to five weeks. Newspaper "Wildcat Tales": Reporters, writers and anyone with newsletter-type experience are needed for the OLGC school newspaper, produced three times per year. Co-Chairs: Vimin Honigford and Ms. Richards.
Open House Coordinator: Volunteer needed to coordinate two Open House receptions on Sundays one in November and one in January. Chair: Raelene Sok
Reception Committee: The committee is responsible for directing classroom volunteers for various grade level receptions (ie. First Communion, Kinder Graduation, 8th Grade Graduation, Mothers Day Tea, etc). They will maintain the PTO supply closet which contains all paper goods, decorations, and coffee supplies for all PTO and hospitality events. All information needed to direct classroom volunteers for receptions is now kept on file in the school office. This information is accessible through the reception committee chair. Recess: Volunteers are needed to supervise children during LUNCHTIME RECESS on the front and back playgrounds for our students’ safety. Two adults are needed at each shift, and siblings are welcome. Parents may click here and using the SignUp Genius scheduling system, may pick a recess time that works for their schedule. Parents may sign up for one or many recess slots. The recess calendar lists the times that the various grades have lunch recess. Chair: Terri Francese
Science Fair Judges: Parents with science backgrounds are needed to assist with the judging of the school’s 7th grade Science Fair. Middle School Science Teacher: Mrs. Luketic
School Welcome Committee: Volunteers are needed to contact new families to the school, coordinate the New Parent Social held during the first week of school, and deliver onesies to new Wildcats born during the year. Chair: Raelene Sok
Teacher Appreciation Activities: Responsible for coordinating two days of teacher lunches during Parent-Teacher Conferences in November and the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon in the spring. Tasks include planning, ordering, and arranging the luncheon menus with Mrs. Jewett and the office staff. Chair: Dagny Shiells
Technology Committee: Volunteers assist in planning technology needs for the school and help with technology projects, such as after-school STEM activities planning and coordination. Chair: Amy Lopes
Used Uniforms: Volunteer(s) needed to assist at the used uniform sales held two to three times a year. For a quick response on special requests, please email useduniforms. Please note: we have very limited access to our donated uniform area until the start of school. Chair: Jennifer Hoffline
Variety Show: OLGC students have the opportunity to audition for and perform in the annual spring Variety Show. Volunteers are needed for crowd control on both audition days in the lobby of DeSales Hall and the night of the show. Chair: Deanna Conte
Yearbook and School Pictures: Volunteers are needed to assist with the two picture days in the Fall. Help with photography of school and class events for our school Yearbook which is created by the Middle School Yearbook Club. Intermittent work throughout the school year. Chair: Carola Williamson
