THANK YOU so much for the incredible generosity throughout our Day of Giving festivities for the Wildcat Fund. I cannot wait to see all that we will be able to accomplish for our students and staff! I am humbled by the generosity, kindness, and support of our community to unmask our potential. Since we had a snow day today, we will have the celebratory out of uniform (even pajamas) tomorrow or the next day we return to school in person. Moving forward, if Fairfax County calls a schedule change due to any further inclement weather, OLGC will opt to eLearn for the day from 8am - 3pm making our last day of school for this school year June 10th as we would have used 2 snow days. As always, if you cannot have your children attend school on a particular day, please let your teachers and the attendance line know.
Please note that any eLearners who wish to pick up pins for the children to celebrate Lent, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a time to pick them up.
As we continue to advocate for the best possible health of all faculty, staff, and students in our community, we want to remind all about parts of our mitigation plan. While we understand that situations may occur when you suddenly need to rely on the community to help with childcare given work schedules, virtual days, snow days, etc., we cannot endorse carpooling or playdates. These situations would place students, as well as the parents, at less than six feet of social distancing even if masks are in place. These activities do place your child at an increased risk for contracting illnesses, including COVID, and do place them within the quarantine less than six feet standard. If it is absolutely necessary to carpool or have playdates, we encourage you to use every possible precaution to minimize exposure risks. We have been extremely blessed to be in person for the vast majority of days since August and we hope to continue to do so for as long as possible. Thank you for your continued vigilance here at Our Lady of Good Counsel School to take every precaution we can to keep our entire community as safe as possible.
Please join our Zoom meeting next Tuesday, February 23rd at 7:00pm with Fr. Matt and me to discuss the Vision for OLGC school. If you have any questions or topics you wish to discuss or learn more about, please feel free to email Mrs. Jewett (email@example.com) ahead of time so we are properly prepared. See email for link.
