A K-8 Blue Ribbon School in Vienna, VA

Be who you are and be that well

Welcome to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School which has a long standing reputation for academic excellence and a caring environment which facilitates learning and spiritual, social, emotional and physical growth.

Hello fam!  Here’s hoping your Thanksgiving holiday was full of gratitude and quality family togetherness.  Wait…who am I kidding?  By Saturday, everyone in my house was in their respective corners!

Well it’s officially that time of year!  Yes, it is Advent, but it is also a time for thinking of others, giving, and being thankful for all that we have.

TODAY is GivingTuesday!  It is a global generosity movement--a day to simply do something good for others.  There are many ways to be generous as we all have something to give.  People can show their generosity in a variety of ways--whether it’s helping a neighbor, advocating for a cause, sharing a skill, or giving to a charitable organization.

Below you will find information about how to support our school TODAY on GivingTuesday!  Thank you for your consideration.

Also, we have new information about The Joy of Christmas Giving--our December outreach project.

So happy first week of December!  It’s gonna go fast.  Annnnd now it’s time for terrible Dad Christmas jokes.  Hold your hat, I have some doozies.

What’s the absolute best Christmas present?  A broken drum — you can’t beat it!

No hate mail please…

Have a good week y’all ;)

  • TODAY  Let Generosity Be Our Guide – Journey to New Heights with the Wildcat Fund on #GivingTuesday, 11/30!  Generosity gives all of us the power to make a positive change in the lives of others, and is a fundamental value anyone can act on.  GivingTuesday celebrates generosity worldwide on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.  We see generosity, resilience, strength, and spirit every day at OLGC School.  Please continue to show your love for our School because “For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be.” www.olgcschool.org/wildcatfund.
  • NEW  OLGC’s Joy of Christmas Giving:  The December outreach project has a new name.  The Parish has been working to combine "The Giving Tree" and the "Adopt-A-Family" programs, so that we are able to support our local community in a more meaningful way.  In the last two years, the demand in our local community has increased to the point that we are expanding our family support.  This year, grades 3-8 will each adopt two families, one per class.  Be on the lookout for an email from your room parent.  Grades PK–2 will follow the “Giving Tree” format using the SignUpGenius to choose toys or other gifts that are needed.  Another way to assist children and families in the area is with diapers, pullups, and wipes, or monetary donations to Iliff’s Pediatric Unit to help fund education and entertainment programs.  Use this link to signup.
  • REMINDER   Purchase with a Purpose to support your PTO!
