Happy Valentine's Day! I hope today finds you all enjoying this day with the ones you love. Thank you to everyone who attended the PTO General Meeting on Tuesday night. I'm glad so many people were able to see our 7th graders hard work and hear from faculty members Dennis McFaden of O'Connell and Eileen Liberti and Michael Potter of Paul VI, and O'Connell students, Gabi Fronjosa, Luke Snyder, Madeline Clerici, and Rachel Ivany about preparing students for the transition to high school. Special thanks to Mrs. Luketic for all her hard work with the 7th grade Science Fair.
"Wildcats Got Talent" is coming. Our annual talent show is Friday, March 1st at 7 PM in DeSales Hall. Do your Wildcats and their Wildcat friends sing, dance, play an instrument, juggle, tell jokes, do magic? Then sign their act up now at firstname.lastname@example.org. There will be a practice on February 20th from 4-6 PM and a dress rehearsal on February 27th also from 4-6 PM. New this year, there will be drinks and snacks available for purchase at the show, including beer and wine for adults. In addition to general admission seats (free!), we'll even have VIP reserved seating. For $15 you can have the best seats in the house, a beverage ticket, and snacks. February Frenzy Tournament Concession Stand February Frenzy Tournament Concession Stand - Refuel at the 5th Grade Concession Stand during OLGC's House League basketball tournament. Mark your calendars...it's time to cheer on all those amazing 4th and 5th grade OLGC and CCF basketball players as they battle it out in the annual "February Frenzy" tournament at OLGC from February 22nd - 25th. Check out their mad court skills as they run, jump, score, and shine through this in-house, double-elimination tournament like no other. While you're enjoying the tournament, keep your family and ballers fueled both day and night with great meals, beverages, and snacks from our concession stand in the Counsel Room. OLGC 5th Grade students and parents will be hard at work selling food to raise money for OLGC and to help make this an unbelievable weekend experience for all. We hope to see you at the tournament! New OLGC Open MIC, Saturday, March 2 Come and perform or enjoy the music at the OLGC Open MIC night on Saturday, March 2, in DeSales Hall from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm. The "wearin" of the green not necessary. Refreshments will be served.
New OLGC Family Breakfast - Best Breakfast in Town – 2/17 This is the BEST event in town for $15 per family. Please join us on Sunday after the 930 Mass on February 17th for our annual OLGC Family Breakfast. (This event has combined the Father/Son and Father/Daughter breakfasts). Jennifer Joy Madden, one of our parishioners, is our guest speaker. She is an inspirational speaker and will talk to us about the importance of families and the digital age. New The Restless Album Release Concert on 2/18 at Jammin Java- Come celebrate the release of OLGC parishioners' new album at Jammin Java! The Restless includes two OLGC parishioners, Stephen and Jessica Ng, and have played at OLGC's Fall Festival as well as for other events. The album includes original songs that continue to draw from diverse influences as well as an innovative take on the hit song Oceans by Hillsong United. "Power Pack" Donations Needed - A "Power Pack" drive for needy Fairfax County Elementary school students will take place on Tuesday, March 19. Confirmation group 6 is conducting a sock and underwear drive for our areas homeless. HotHands hand and toe warmers are also welcome. New items only. A collection box will be in the school lobby as well as the administration building throughout February. Collection will end at the March donut social. All items will be given to the Lamb Center for distribution. Thank you for your generous support!
Calling all home cooks! - Marinated Mamas and Papas Do you love to cook? Marinated Mamas (and Papas) needs you! Be a part of a fantastic OLGC Tradition. Each year, the auction offers a chance to win dinner delivery for up to 6 people once a week throughout the school year! Dinner is home-cooked by wonderful people like you! Monthly Social and Service - Join us as we prepare a Lenten mailing. Please join us after Daily Mass on Friday, February 15, in DeSales Hall for our monthly Social and Service. We will be preparing a Lenten mailing to send to all parishioners. No experience is required, just a willingness to pitch in- even for just a few minutes. Many hands make light work! Snacks and beverages will be provided.

Intelligent Lives - Film Screening – 2/20 at 7pm. Film Screening of "Intelligent Lives" - Bishop O'Connell High School is happy to host a FREE viewing of Dan Habib's new film, INTELLIGENT LIVES. New Looking for a summer camp for your 3rd-12th grader who loves acting, or wants to try it? Traveling Players Ensemble Summer Camp Check out Traveling Players, where kids get to rehearse and perform plays in the great outdoors. Sessions range from one to seven weeks. Buses to and from camp, Thursday night campouts, camping trips for high schoolers, professional theater staff, good counselor-camper ratios. Shakespeare, Moliere, Greek myths, commedia dell'Arte, more. High retention rate. Only a minority of their students major in theater in college, but those that do are getting into great schools, often with scholarships. This camp is also unplugged (no screens!) and older kids who travel with the troupes can earn service hours for their free performances. Scholarships available, www.travelingplayers.org
