Dear OLGC Families,
I hope this finds you all having had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. Thank you to everyone who contributed to and worked to support our annual Thanksgiving Dinner Drive. Special thanks go to Meg Gillespie for again organizing this effort. We provided meals to over a 100 families in beautiful baskets that reflected our many Thanksgiving traditions. Lots of time and treasure went into shopping for and preparing the dinner baskets, sorting them as they arrived at school on Tuesday morning, transporting them to Clearview, and distributing them to our Clearview families. Gratitude and giving are great ways to celebrate this season.
Thank you as well to everyone who has contributed to the Piggy Bank Fund, our project for providing Christmas bonuses to our OLGC School faculty and staff. As you know, our goal grew to $21,000 this year with the addition of our preschool. As of Tuesday morning, we were over one third of the way to our goal. Our fundraising drive for the Piggy Bank Fund runs through tomorrow, November 30th.
This will also be our last Piggy Bank Fund Drive. Today you will receive a letter from the Steering Committee of our new school annual fund, the Wildcat Fund. Last year, we celebrated our School's 60th anniversary. As we build for our next 60 years, it is time to rationalize and regularize the way we support our School, and this is the purpose of the Wildcat Fund.
Please look for the letter coming home today which details the rationale for and aims of the Wildcat Fund. Steering Committee members will be at each Mass this Sunday to answer any questions that you might have, and Steering Committee members will be reaching out personally to every OLGC School family over the next few weeks to explain and ask for your assistance with the Wildcat Fund.
As always, thank you for all you do to support our School and please let me know if you have any questions.
Peace to you and your family as we embark on our new liturgical year and Advent, our season that promises light in the darkness,

New The Wildcat Fund for OLGC School - A Foundation for Annual Giving at OLGC School
"The Lord delights in every little step you take." - St. Francis de Sales
As a community, we are each called to offer our time, talent, and treasure in many ways. We now invite you to reflect on the impact that OLGC has had on your life, whether as a student, parent, alumni, or community partner, and support a new investment in the mission of our school. What steps will you take to answer that call? How will you give back?
Cultivating faith while achieving academic excellence is a tradition at OLGC. Teachers challenge students to become confident, faith-filled, life-long learners, transforming them into the leaders of tomorrow.
The Wildcat Fund will:
- Recruit, recognize, and retain faculty and staff
- Advance technology & innovative classrooms
- Address the needs of our growing campus
- Deliver need-based tuition assistance

New Our Call to Holiness – Now What - Salesian Advent Morning of Reflection December 15, 2018 9:00am - 12:00noon St. Francis De Sales called all men and women to pursue holiness in accordance with their state in life and vocation. He understood that holiness can look different, depending upon that state in life and vocation. However, all holy people all look like Jesus, because Jesus begins to live His very life in and through them. He also emphasized that growing in holiness requires our continual and free cooperation with the grace of God. Join together with other members of the OLGC Community in De Sales Hall to explore through prayer and presentations, how our lives can reflect the holiness to which we are all called.
