Mr. Sugianto manages the computer lab this school year. He hopes to use his combined experience as a teacher and software engineer to hold lessons that reflect what is happening in the technology world today.

Current Highlights:

Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

  • Building motor skills by using the mouse and keyboard to navigate various programs.
  • Acclimating to new technologies.
  • Participating in an Internet scavenger hunt.

3rd - 5th Grade

  • Developing our Digital Portfolios, which will contain technology work from the entire year.
  • Investigating the history of different technologies and how developments in society led to today.
  • Populating our Digital Portfolios with the "basics:" freshly-made documents, presentations, and graphics.

6th - 8th Grade

  • Refining our digital work to look professional through proper formatting and design choices.
  • Tracking modest amounts of data over time.
  • Observing adaptive algorithms and other artificial intelligence at work.

Future Plans:

Kindergarten - 2nd Grade

  • Designing and printing decorations for teachers to use.
  • Recording and editing image and audio files.
  • Drafting a storyboard in Scratch, a block-based programming language.

3rd - 5th Grade

  • Mimicking how technology is used in professional industries such as business and architecture.
  • Proper research techniques and source selection on the Internet.
  • Guarding oneself and others as a digital citizen communicating with strangers.

6th - 8th Grade

  • Thinking like an engineer!
  • Computer-aided design: 2-D and 3-D modeling.
  • Implementing algorithms in Python.
