Professional Background
I taught first grade in the Arlington Public School system for 5 years and stopped teaching at that point to be a stay at home mom to my 2 oldest children. I taught preschool for a year and then continued to sub in my children’s preschool classes. I have tutored students from grade 1-7 in all subject areas. I taught 2 of my 4 kids at home home during Covid.
Faith in Action
I love our school motto inspired by Frances DeSales, “Be who you are and be that well”. I believe that we all have a divine spark and one of the most important part: of teaching is finding out what lights up each individual student and helping them work hard to be their best selves.
Favorite Teaching Moment
I don’t know that I have an exact favorite moment but I love seeing that moment when it clicks for a student. When I taught first grade, February and March were my favorite months because that’s when students always really took off with their reading and writing and felt so good about themselves. I also love hearing from old students and parents I worked with.
Favorite Food
Any kind of seafood but especially crabs and shrimp.
Favorite Activity Outside of School
Being with my family, watching my kids play sports, walking my dog, and reading.
Fun Fact About Me
I am a part time Pilates reformer instructor.
