I spent the first 24 years of my career working in New Orleans, LA. I started my career working at the amazing Charity Hospital until Hurricane Katrina, then spent the next 9 years working in academia at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. In 2015 I began working in the K-12 school system to allow me more time with my girls and fell in love with OT all over again. In 2017 my family relocated to Vienna, VA, for my husband’s work. I helped at OLGC last year teaching science lab to K-3rd grade. I am so excited to be able to now help the school using my skills as an OT!
Faith in Action
My favorite thing to do for the church is to volunteer at the fish fry events. I love seeing the OLGC community come together as a family. It is at these events that I feel most at home here in Vienna.
Favorite Teaching Moment
My favorite moments working with kids in the school system is when I can help them achieve a new level of independence/success. I not only love it for the kids, but I love that the teachers are so proud of their student’s accomplishments. I feel like being an OT means not only helping the client, but also helping the client’s caregivers.
