Degrees

B.A. in History and Theology and Religious Studies with a Minor in Education from Marymount University.

Professional Background

I have volunteered for the Catholic Diocese of Arlington in the Religious Education program since I was in ninth grade as a lead teacher for the elementary grade levels. I have also worked for the Dioceses of Arlington as a receptionist at Saint Anthony of Padua and Queen of Apostles; and as a substitute teacher at the Cathedral of Saint Thomas More School. While subbing at the Cathedral I gained experience in second, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. While at Marymount I took several education course that required field observations. Through this program I gained most of my experience in the middle school and high school grade levels. I observed at Saint Agnes, Saint Thomas More, Bishop O'Connell, Annandale High School, and South County High School. I feel that these schools have prepared me and shaped me to become the teacher I will be to the students at OLGC.

Faith in Action

I personally grew spiritually my junior year at Marymount University during the evening praise and worship rally for life. I had never experienced the presence of Christ during adoration until that very night. I listened to the words of our very own Bishop Burbidge and opened my heart to the Lord. It is my hope to allow my students throughout the school year to be able to experience that very same presence of Christ in my classroom and during school events.

Favorite Teaching Moment

This is my first year as a teacher and being responsible for my very own classroom. My most memorable moments will most likely be building relationships with my students through accommodating my skills based on each one of my students needs and interacting during classroom activities. I know that I will also enjoy learning the many great things they have to offer me and the class throughout the course of the year.

Favorite Food

Haagen-Dazs strawberry ice cream

Favorite Activity Outside of School

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Most times you will find me at sporting events with my sister and dad. I am a HUGE fan of the Washington Nationals, Washington Capitals, D.C. United, U.S Women's and Men's National Soccer team, and Real Madrid.

Fun Fact About Me

I am a mother to a four legged pup named Rocky.
