Ms. Michelle Figaro
B.A. in Linguistics, Stony Brook University, B.A. in German Language, Stony Brook University, Master's in Teaching, Stony Brook University
This is my third year in education and my first year at Our Lady of Good Counsel School! I received my B.A. in Linguistics and B.A. in German Language from Stony Brook University. During this time I discovered my love of teaching while tutoring elementary language learners, and went on to earn my Master's in Teaching from Stony Brook University.
In continuing my professional development, in 2017 I took the Responsive Classroom Course for Elementary Educators, which teaches an evidence-based approach to education that focuses on the relationship between academic success and social-emotional learning. I strive to implement it's techniques in my classroom everyday!
I am so excited to be here at OLGC with such a supportive faculty and staff and an amazing community!
Favorite Activity Outside of School
My husband and I love to hike together, especially in Great Falls! I also enjoy gardening and try to grow my own herbs!
