B.S. in Food and Nutrition from Radford University
Following graduation from college, I worked primarily in the medical field for a number of years as my degree was in health and nutrition. I was out of the workforce for a number of years raising my two daughters. When I was ready to return to work I decided to work in the education field. I am glad I made that choice and I have been working in education for about ten years.
Faith in Action
I have spent all of my years as a professional educator in faith-based schools. Having religious education as part of the curriculum is important to me and I enjoy having the freedom to discuss faith issues with the children and faculty. Both of my children attended OLGC and they thrived in the loving environment that exists here. It is rewarding for me to continue to be a part of that environment even after my children have completed their time at OLGC.
Favorite Teaching Moment
My most memorable moment was when one of the little girls in my class said to me, "I love you, Mrs. Gartner!" and gave me a big hug. That was a moment of pure joy and reminded me of how rewarding this work can be.
Favorite Activity Outside of School
