Professional Background

I grew up in a K-8 Catholic school just like OLGC only I never had a school counselor until I got to High School. Even then, the counselor wasn't much help to me. I was not the smartest kid in class nor one who struggled, so from a counselor's view I often got "lost" or overlooked because I didn't need any academic help. However, I never felt like I was challenged or encouraged to reach my full potential. It was from these experiences that I decided to become a school counselor and I have made it my personal and professional goal to help EVERY student ( especially those lost or overlooked students) reach their full potential!

Favorite Teaching Moment

During the first week of school here when a Kindergartner asked me if I liked counting the students. When I asked him what he meant he responded " You're the new school counter right? Isn't it your job to count the kids?" After a good chuckle I explained to him that I was the counselor and described all the fun things I get to do ( including counting the kids sometimes!).
