Mrs. Wendy Kehoe
B.A. in English from James Madison University; M.B.A. from University of Phoenix
I began my teaching career in 1996 teaching 5th grade at St. Mary's School in Alexandria, VA. After a couple of years, I took some time off from teaching so that I could be a stay at home mom. God had other plans for me though, as l happened into an office job to help as they were restructuring. What was to be a temporary job led into something more permanent, so much so, that I decided to pursue my Masters in Business Administration. After several years working in Finance and Accounting roles, I knew something was still missing. Fortunately, I was able to find my way back to my original passion of teaching and find a home here at OLGC, again teaching 5th grade.
Faith in Action
I love that I am able to talk about God everyday in my job. It's always nice when we can openly discuss and practice our faith as a Catholic community. In class, we often discuss how God impacts our life and look for the ways we can see Him daily through everyone we encounter.
Favorite Teaching MomentFor me, I love when I can see that "ah-ha" moment when a child who has struggled with a concept finally understands. The joy in their eyes brings joy to my heart.
This would probably be a tie between Italian and Mexican. Yummy!
Favorite Activity Outside of School
I love going to Washington Nationals games.
Fun Fact About Me
I can touch my nose with my tongue (as can 2 of my 4 children).
