Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Davis and Elkins College. I taught Pre-Kindergarten for a little less than two years. This will be my 5th year teaching Kindergarten at OLGC. I also support the OLGC Extra-Curricular Activity Program (ECAP) and our Summer Camp.
Faith in Action
I try to instill the teaching of the Bible in the classroom everyday by encouraging kindness to one another, respect, and the joy of learning!
Favorite Teaching Moment
My first year at OLGC I took a tumble playing with the kids outside. My students were very worried about me and I was hurt pretty badly. I took a day off and I received an e-mail from the parents of one of my students. The parent told me that her little girl was so worried about me that she went back to the classroom and said the Lord's Prayer for me. That parent wanted to thank me for teaching the power of prayer to my Kindergarteners. It was a wonderful teaching moment!
Another favorite teaching moment that I have is at the end of each school year. It's a proud moment for me because you see how much these students have absorbed and learned since the start of school. The end result is amazing! I love Kindergarten and love watching my students grow.
Favorite Activity Outside of School
Working out, hiking, kayaking, traveling, playing soccer, and being with my husband, cats, friends and family!
