Mrs. Rose Marie Blatnik
Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Cleveland State University
I have taught in the Diocese of Cleveland and in the Diocese of Arlington.
The grade levels I have experience in are the third, fourth, and fifth grade.
Faith in Action
My faith has always been a very important part of my life. I attended 12 years of Catholic school. In grade school I was taught by the Notre Dame Sisters and in high school by the Sisters of Charity. My parents always taught me to put God and others first. I feel very lucky to teach in a Catholic setting since I can pass on the Catholic faith to children. When planning lessons, I try to incorporate religious values whenever I can. When it is Advent, Christmas, Easter, for example I get very excited to plan art and writing lessons.
Favorite Teaching Moment
There are so many great moments because students always will do something or say something you just do not expect. I love to hear from a student, “That was really fun today.”
I love Italian food with a good tomato sauce.
My favorite dessert is ice cream, especially chocolate.
Favorite Activity Outside of School
I love to work in my yard. In the summer I enjoy working on my various planters and hanging baskets.
Reading is a great way to relax also. Historical and romance novels are my favorite.
Spending time with my husband, children and grandchildren is the best of all.
I once appeared on a local TV show…..for only a few seconds!
