Professional Background

When I graduated from college, I knew I wanted to work on Wall Street like my Dad did. I began working in the International Department of Shearson Lehman Brothers, where I worked with foreign currency, bonds, and stocks, and with our international branches. I loved the excitement of it, but realized I wanted to help people on a different level. I obtained my master's in education and moved to Northern Virginia where I already had family, and married my husband, Kevin. I started working for Strayer University in institutional planning, research, & statistics. I began teaching at Vienna Baptist Children's Center, and later moved to Our Lady of Good Counsel, where I have taught Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, Library, and Technology. In 2021 I started working in the OLGC School Office.

Faith in Action

As the Administrative Assistant, I love how I can help new families as they begin their journey with Our Lady of Good Counsel School, and help current families make the most of their time here. My family was blessed to be a part of this school community during my son's K-8th grade years, and I want to help others have the same positive experience.

Favorite Teaching Moment

When I was a 2nd Grade teacher, I loved religion class. Being a part of such a big year in the lives of our children was a wonderful privilege. I learned so much from class discussions about love and faith from my kids. The biggest thrill for me was being able to serve the Eucharist students at their first school Mass after receiving their First Holy Communion. The faith, pride and joy they exhibited was a truly blessed experience! Although I am not a 2nd Grade teacher anymore, being a Eucharistic Minister still allows me to take part in this very special experience. As our 2nd Graders begin to make this very special sacrament each spring, I am thrilled to be a part of their growth in our Church, and see their elated smiles!

Favorite Food

Caesar salad, popcorn, & fried chicken (not necessarily together!).

Favorite Activity Outside of School

Outside of school, I love to spend time with my family and friends. My son is a marathon runner and I love the excitement of attending his races. As a family, we attend baseball & college basketball games, and go kayaking all around Virginia. I also like to knit, garden, and read.

Fun Fact About Me

I have a minor in Canadian Studies and played intramural broomball in college.
