Professional Background
My first teaching position was teaching 4th and 5th grade in Florida. When I first returned to Virginia, I spent three years working in Head Start with children with disabilities, from toddlers to 5 years old. I then began teaching special education at the high school level in Fairfax County, which I did for 12 years, teaching primarily English and Math. I feel so blessed and excited to now be able to return to 5th grade and join the beautiful community of OLGC.
Faith in Action
Each child I teach is a gift from God, and so I try to make sure that love, respect, and compassion are things that I model and we practice in the classroom every day.
Favorite Teaching Moment
I love the moment each year that our class becomes a true community, supporting and encouraging each other to do their best and grow.
Favorite Food
I could eat sushi every day!
Favorite Activity Outside of School
I love to read and watch old films.
Fun Fact About Me
I used to live in Ecuador!
