Professional Background
My first professional career was practicing American Indian Law with a non-profit law and advocacy organization and a private law firm both in Washington D.C. I am licensed to practice in New York and District of Columbia. My second career is teaching. I completed a teacher certificate program at De La Salle University, Manila, Philippines and fulfilled the practicum requirement at International School Manila. Before moving to the Philippines as an expat, I was recruited to work at Country Day School, McLean, VA where I was encouraged to pursue an academic program in education. Upon my return to McLean, VA, I began my educational career at St. John the Beloved Academy. I was with their Preschool School program for six years.
Faith in Action
My faith centers around my relationship with Jesus Christ. Prayer is an important part of that relationship. As situations arise in my work that require a wisdom that sometimes alludes me, I look to Him and let Him guide me. In a moment of deep reflection, He reminded me that when teaching others about Him, it is not me who is the teacher but rather it is Him who is teaching me and I am to share with others what I have learned from Him.
Favorite Teaching Moment
When a child tells me they enjoyed my lesson.
