Professional Background

I have worked at special education schools for 7 years, first as a classroom teacher and then as a K-12 school librarian.

Faith in Action

My faith is what initially attracted me to the ministry of education - to become the best teacher I could be in order to provide my students with the kind of holistic and transformative formation that I was blessed with. I believe education is the most meaningful way to evangelize the Gospel and change the world, one student interaction at a time.

Favorite Teaching Moment

My favorite teaching moments happened over shared reading experiences. Whether it was making character scrapbooks with my 4th grade students as a culmination project for The Tale of Despereaux, recording book talk videos to share our favorite reading recommendations, or discussing the visual elements in picture books and debating which title was most deserving to win the Caldecott Medal, it was these moments that allowed me to connect with my students and experience the joy of learning together.

Favorite Food

Chocolate :)

Favorite Activity Outside of School

Reading of course!

Fun Fact About Me

When I am not reading, I am volunteering with my local animal shelter by fostering orphaned and bottle baby kittens!
